How do I sign up to volunteer?
First, you have to register for an account on our site. Once you complete your application, someone from Benefits in Action or Serve Spot Lakewood will reach out about next steps.
Why can't I sign up for an opportunity?
To sign up for an opportunity, all our volunteers must consent to a background check and sign a confidentiality agreement and liability waiver. Once those are completed, you will be able to sign up for any event that doesn't require extra trainings.

What is Benefits in Action?
Benefits in Action is a nonprofit organization located in Lakewood, Colorado that serves individuals throughout the state. We strive to increase understanding, access, and utilization of healthcare resources. Our team of navigators works with individuals to help them recognize the health-related benefits they qualify for, apply to those benefits, and utilize them as effectively as possible. We are passionate about the importance of increasing healthcare benefit literacy among the public. Accordingly, we organize and hold educational sessions in public facilities aimed to increase individual understanding and self-efficacy in navigating the healthcare system.
What is Serve Spot Lakewood?
Serve Spot Lakewood is a nonprofit organization formed by three Lakewood coalitions: the Coalition to End Hunger in Lakewood, the Lakewood Faith Coalition, and the Lakewood Service Club Coalition. Our mission is to join together community organizations, families, and individuals who desire to give back to their community. Among our projects, we are working with Title I elementary schools in Lakewood, CO to provide support to families and teachers to benefit the schools and the surrounding communities.
Is there an app I can use?
There is a volunteer app available through Apple or Google Play. Manage your hours and see new opportunities on your phone. Just download CauseConnect and sign in with your account.
